How spaced repetition works
Every word and kanji you study moves through three stages:
Learning
New items you're still getting wrong. Reviewed frequently.
Review
You're getting these right. Intervals grow: 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 2 weeks.
Mastered
Locked in long-term memory. Occasional reviews to keep it fresh.
Miss a word? It moves back to Learning. Get it right? It advances. The system optimizes for your weak spots automatically.
Tips from Michi
- •10 minutes beats 1 hour once a week. Daily consistency is everything with SRS.
- •Don't skip reviews. They pile up and become overwhelming. Stay on top of them.
- •It's okay to fail. Wrong answers are how the system learns what you need to practice.
