If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile picture from Google. We use this to create and secure your Komichi account. Your credentials are handled by Google — we never see or store your Google password.
Account data is stored securely in Supabase (Tokyo region). Only you can access your account data.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and basic context about how you found us (signup source, page, and any UTM parameters). This helps us understand our audience and tailor content.
Newsletters are delivered via Beehiiv or Resend. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.
When you contact us or submit a question/feedback via our widget, we store your message and email address so we can reply. This data is used solely for correspondence and is not shared with third parties.
When you complete quizzes on Komichi (like the Japan Persona Quiz), we record your answers anonymously to show community statistics such as persona distributions and average readiness scores. This data is never linked to your identity, email, or any personally identifiable information. We store only:
No IP addresses, user IDs, or emails are stored in the quiz responses table. This anonymous data helps us show you how your results compare to other quiz takers.
When you use our Rirekisho (Japanese resume) Builder tool and save a draft, we collect:
Purpose: This data is stored solely to let you save your resume draft and return to edit or regenerate it later.
Photo: Your photo is processed in-browser for cropping and PDF generation but is not stored on our servers. When you reload the page or open a saved draft, you will need to re-upload your photo.
Storage: Your resume data is stored securely in Supabase (Tokyo region). Only you can access your drafts — other users cannot see your data.
Retention: Your resume drafts are retained until you delete them. You can delete all your resume data at any time from the Rirekisho Builder or your account settings.
