The Ito Foundation offers ¥180,000/month for master's students in Japan for up to 2 years. It's open to all foreign nationals under 29 who are already residing in Japan. About 10 students are selected annually.
Foreign nationals (India eligible) who currently reside in Japan with Student or PR status. Age 29 or under on 1 April is preferred (30+ submit a statement of reasons). JLPT or EJU certificate required. Not eligible: applicants living overseas, research students, holders of other scholarships, anyone keeping their current job, double-degree students. Japanese interview Jan–Feb. Around 10 recipients per year.
For master's students under 29 already living in Japan. The catch: you must already be in Japan with a Student visa and able to interview in Japanese. Tuition is NOT covered.
