The Kobayashi International Scholarship Foundation provides monthly stipends of ¥150,000–¥180,000 for Asian students (including Indians) studying in Japan. The scholarship is available at all levels from undergraduate to PhD, with university nomination required.
Designated-university nomination only. Asian nationals, 35 or under, JLPT N1 required. Around 30 new awards per year.
For Asian students under 35 enrolled in Japan with strong academics. The catch: requires university nomination and Japanese language study—direct applications not accepted.
