Provided by Japanese Government (MEXT)
The MEXT Young Leaders' Program (YLP) is a fast-track 1-year master's for young government officials, business leaders, and legal professionals. It offers an even higher stipend than regular MEXT (~¥242,000/month) and is designed for future leaders.
Nomination-only. In India, recommendations come solely from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions; the Ministry of Law & Justice; the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII); and FICCI. Under 40. Government officials for the Government and Local Governance tracks, legal professionals for Law, and university graduates with 2–4 years' work experience depending on track. You cannot apply directly to the embassy.
For young professionals (typically government officials or rising business leaders) nominated by their organization. The catch: requires organizational nomination—you can't apply as an individual.
