The Yoshida Scholarship (YKK Leaders 21) is a generous private scholarship explicitly targeting students from India and South Asia. It offers a high monthly stipend (~¥200,000) plus tuition coverage for master's students.
Natural sciences only. Designated universities only: UTokyo, Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Tech), Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Kyushu, Keio, Waseda, Doshisha, Kwansei Gakuin. You must not already be in Japan at the time of application. Age 30 or under for master's, 35 or under for the final three years of a doctoral course. India is within the eligible-country scope.
For master's students from India/South Asia with strong academics. The catch: limited to first-year master's students—apply before or right after starting your program.
